Last updated: March 4, 2026
1. Our Mission
Famelee exists to help people make real friends through authentic social events. These guidelines ensure our community remains safe, welcoming, and trustworthy for everyone — organizers, attendees, and guests alike. Every user of Famelee is expected to follow these guidelines.
2. No Fraudulent or Deceptive Events
Events must accurately represent what attendees will experience. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Fake events or "phantom events" created to collect payments without delivering an experience
- Misleading event descriptions, titles, or images that misrepresent the event
- Bait-and-switch pricing or hidden charges
- Selling tickets to events you do not have the authority to host
- Creating duplicate or spam event listings
3. No Illegal Activities
Events must comply with all applicable Canadian federal, provincial, and municipal laws. Events must not promote, facilitate, or encourage illegal activities, including but not limited to: drug trafficking, unlicensed gambling, sale of regulated goods without proper licensing, or any activity that violates the Criminal Code of Canada.
4. No Hate Speech, Violence, or Harassment
Famelee has zero tolerance for:
- Events or content promoting hatred based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other protected characteristics
- Threats of violence, intimidation, or incitement to violence
- Harassment, bullying, doxxing, or stalking of any individual
- Content that glorifies or trivializes violence, terrorism, or self-harm
5. No Adult or Sexual Content
Events and content must be appropriate for a general audience. Sexually explicit events, content, or imagery are not permitted. Events at licensed venues that serve alcohol are acceptable when clearly labeled as 19+ and otherwise comply with these guidelines.
6. Honest Representation
All users must represent themselves and their events honestly:
- Organizers must use their real name or registered business name
- Event photos and descriptions must be truthful and not misleading
- Attendance numbers and reviews must not be fabricated or artificially inflated
- Impersonating other individuals, organizations, or brands is prohibited
7. Respect for Privacy
Protect the privacy of others in the Famelee community:
- Do not share other users' personal information without their explicit consent
- Event photography and recording should be disclosed to attendees
- Do not use contact information obtained through Famelee for unsolicited marketing or spam
- Respect attendees' wishes regarding photos and social media posts
8. Content Moderation & Reporting
Famelee actively monitors and reviews events and content on the platform. If you encounter content or events that violate these guidelines:
- Email us at [email protected] with details of the violation
- Include the event name/URL and a description of the issue
- Reports are reviewed within 48 hours
- You may report anonymously — your identity will not be shared with the reported party
9. Consequences of Violations
Famelee reserves sole discretion in determining violations and their consequences. Actions may include:
- Warning: First minor offense — written notice and request to correct the issue
- Event removal: Events that violate these guidelines will be removed from the platform
- Account suspension: Repeated violations or serious offenses result in temporary account suspension
- Permanent ban: Severe violations (fraud, safety threats, repeated offenses) result in permanent account termination and fund withholding
In cases of criminal activity, Famelee will cooperate with law enforcement authorities.
