Is the tipping culture in Toronto spiraling out of control? š§ With the average tip now hovering around 20%, it's hard not to wonder if we're tipping for good service or just for the sake of it. When did we go from showing appreciation for exceptional service to feeling obligated to pay extra on top of already high menu prices? Now, we're seeing tip options pop up everywhereāfrom coffee shops to delivery appsāand it's not just the traditional service sectors anymore. Are we risking the quality of service by making tipping a norm rather than an exception? I believe it's time to rethink this culture. Shouldn't good service stand on its own? What do you think? Are we moving towards a tipping system thatās more about guilt than gratitude? Letās debate!
