Is Toronto's tipping culture spiraling out of control? 💸 Personally, I think it is. We’re in a city where a coffee at your local café can easily come with a suggested tip of 20%—for a $4 drink! It’s one thing to support service workers, but another to feel pressured to tip at every turn. When restaurants like Bar Isabel and Drake Café suggest tips on takeout orders, it begs the question: should we be tipping for a service that’s no longer personal? With inflation soaring and rents skyrocketing, do we really need to shoulder extra costs for mediocre service? I believe in rewarding great service, but at this rate, tipping could become an expected norm rather than a gracious gesture. What do you think? Are we tipping too much in Toronto? Let's hear your thoughts.
