Is tipping culture in Toronto spiraling into absurdity? Absolutely. I get it—we want to support our service workers, but when I’m being asked to tip for takeout from places like Sushi on Bloor or coffee from Dark Horse, it's hard not to roll my eyes. A 20% tip for handing me my order? Seriously? Look, I value good service, but we need to draw the line somewhere. Tipping should be about rewarding exceptional service, not a forced donation on a mediocre experience.
